Admission
Students who desire admission into the ATEP must submit a formal
application to the Program Director. This application must be submitted
by October 1, when all pre-professional course requirements will
be met. The application form is available from the Athletic Training Clerical Assistant with the approval of the ATEP Director.
Each student applying for admission to the Professional ATEP will
be approved by a Selection Committee consisting of the ATEP Director,
Clinical Instructors, ATEP Students and other professionals. Formal
notification of admission to the Professional ATEP will be made in
writing and sent to the candidate prior to the pre-registration period
for Spring Semester.
Candidates who are NOT admitted to the ATEP will receive written
notification of this decision. Some students may be selected as alternates,
should a vacancy become available prior to Spring Semester, these
students will be informed. Not all qualified candidates may be admitted
to the Professional ATEP due to limited number of clinical openings.
Because the ATEP application deadline is October 1st, some applicants
are in the process of taking academic courses. These individuals are contingently
selected into the ATEP until they receive a “C” grade
or better in all prerequisite courses. If a student (applicant) fails to receive
at least a “C”, their acceptance is forfeited unless they
are able to retake or substitute a course prior to the Spring semester.
