The Educational Leadership Excellence Award was established in October of 2000. Every autumn faculty within the Department of Educational Leadership convene to reflect upon the accomplishments of past graduates who have made significant contributions to education through their vision and action. From this conversation, outstanding alumni are nominated and subsequently chosen by the faculty as recipients of the Educational Leadership Excellence Award. Each October a reception is held in their honor at the Montana Conference of the Education Leadership where they are publicly recognized by educational leaders from across Montana.
